Angle encoder usually refers to an encoder with accuracy within ±5''~10'' and a line count higher than 5000. Angle encoders are used for high-precision angle measurement where accuracy is required to be within a few seconds.


The main application scope of the enclosed angle encoder: CNC turntable; C-axis of a lathe; gear measuring machine; high-precision industrial robot joints; astronomical telescopes, etc.


The main features of this series of products are: the measurement system has high precision, reaching the international advanced level of similar products, and the built-in bearing and built-in coupling eliminate the influence of the machine tool components and the torque generated by the rotational acceleration on the measurement accuracy;


The installation is simple, and the built-in coupling expands the axial installation range to ±0.5mm, reducing the difficulty of processing and assembling related accessories.

 

The enclosed angle encoder series adopts the principle of photoelectric scanning for measurement. Its measurement datum is a glass grating.
Smart uses the self-developed lithography process to make precision gratings, with a typical grating pitch of 10um. The grating line thickness is uniform and the edge is clear, which is the key to outputting high-quality incremental or absolute position signal.

Advantages of enclosed incremental linear encoders


Enclosed incremental linear encoders measure linear axis position without any additional mechanical transmission. All feed mechanisms are included in the position control loop using the linear encoder. The mechanical motion error of the control loop is detected by the signal acquisition and processing system in the linear encoder reading head and corrected by the control system. Thus, potentially multiple sources of error can be eliminated:


1. Positioning error caused by thermal expansion of the ball screw
2. Backlash error
3. Motion error caused by ball screw pitch error
