Absolute encoders can be either single-turn or multi-turn. Single-turn encoders offer position information within one full revolution (360 degrees), whereas multi-turn encoders provide position information over many revolutions. Multi-turn encoders feature additional sensing elements or processes that count the number of full revolutions.
